Like most organisms emperor penguins have organs. Each having its on function and each one being included in an organ system, like the heart shown above is in the circulatory system. One of the many organ adaptations emperor penguins have is they can reduce their metabolism and shut down the organ functions that are not needed to survive. Penguins have a special organ above there eye called the supraorbital gland that makes salt water into fresh water, this organ acts as a type of kidney but instead of cleaning out the unhealthy stuff in food it removes the salt in water.
